Taken in context National Service does not simply equate to a Military Draft, though one of the forms of National Service is Military Service. There are other forms of service. Many other countries have this and it is a good way to build national unity and give young people discipline as part of a team.

Unless we are attacked by a near peer rival I personally wouldn't support conscription into combat forces.
