Congratulations to Dr. Anna John @johnan_talks, who just received her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and is the lucky winner of the puzzle of @biochem_bri's awesome amino acid infographic. We hope she enjoys it!
@StephenEdwardB7 On that same line of thought, nicotine in cigars is another bad choice for the sake of public health too. If ppl know and still choose whats bad for them, then the gap between science @ the bench (paid for by the taxpayer) and its usefulness to the public may not be #scicomm then
If not, whatever is done at the bench with the taxpayers’ money remains unreachable to the taxpayer itself. Sound #sciencecommunication is more of a necessity in an information-overwhelmed world. (3/3)
Pic from yesterday’s @ascbiology webinar titled ‘Too creative for science’ by Dr. Ahna Skop from UW- Madison. Mental note > find your niche and give it ALL you’ve got!
#Covid has taught us that the science at the bench can be useful to the public only if the science is communicated well to them (with contexts and limitations included). 2/n
