@ScotBertram In AH it is confusing but in Indiana presumably Indiana is contributing the land (in exchange for rent) and another $1 billion+ in exchange for 12% of ticket revenue. It’s the same structure (stadium municipality likely issuing bonds)
@the_illinoize Indiana had the same structure but imposes a 12% ticket tax payable to the Sports Authority. All other revenue NFL and non NFL goes to the bears. And PSLs are exempt. Presumably AH or Chicago would do something similar. So rent + 12% of ticket sales goes to municipality.
@AdamHoge They wouldn’t own Indiana either but they would still end up with 90% + of ALL (NFL and non NFL) revenues there because just 12% tax on tickets. Not concessions. Not parking. And not PSLs. Ownership not necessary if getting 90% + of all revenue.
@Michael_Cerami Yes. And reverse is also true. Remember they started 10-6 in both 2024 and 2023? As they did in 2004 too. The 2020 Cubs two and done playoff team started an astounding 13-3
@BillTZimmerman For the second round this isn’t necessarily right. NFL reseeds. If Pack win as 7 seed and Bears have 1 seed they would play Packers in second round after bye.
@BearGogglesOn I don’t think this is right. If Seattle loses one and Bears win out they end up with the same record and Seattle would have one more conference loss (4).
@SamOlbur Cubs offense was good this year. They don’t strike out a lot (6th lowest MLB K%), they walk (7th highest MLB BB%), elite wRC+ (6th in MLB, Phi 7th, Mil 9th) & high position player WAR (3rd in MLB, Mil 6th, Phi 7th), elite baserunning (3rd in BsR). Small playoff sample size
