Actually the real issue is not the fuel tax that everyone is shouting about. That's just a symptom. The real issue lies in the purpose of the tax. It's a "fossil fuel tax" intended to "discourage use of fossil fuels" and "encourage transition to green energy."
If that entire policy sentence sounds completely fucking insane coming from an African country that cannot generate 6,000 MW reliably for its 200 million people, and which happens to have some of the world's largest and cheapest fossil energy reserves, that's because the policy didn't come from the country.
