Wondering what it will take for the “academic revolt” to happen. If not this, then what? Service is one thing, but estimates like these reveal something wayyyy more aggressive. JMO
Spurs have carried out an investigation into whether the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium's retractable pitch is contributing to the club's ongoing injury crisis 💬
Training stimulus = the motion athletes create/terminate (momentum; m*v)
Training strategies = control load moved (mass) & the velocity of the load moved
For sport transfer: create ⬆️ momentum in training vs sport (don’t lust for velocity)
Don’t miss the forest for the trees.
@JeremyHHarrison@Tony_Villani_ This level of BJ assessment is akin to measuring CMJ with tape marked on a wall.
BJ has been assessed on force plates just like CMJs- they just require multi axis force plates
The tape measured dist of a BJ fails to account for body control/position b4 + after flight
@spikesonly I think not. Step pattern and distance are coachable strategies on the track. You don’t have to run that same way when running with resistance (generally). It’s about increasing capacity to apply impulse, which transfers to performance when refining on track strategies
@spikesonly I don’t want to minimize value of load & overvalue speed of the exercise. I want to value motion created
Ex: a slower run with heavy load and a faster run with lighter load can have the momenta, but the faster run will have higher KE because the squared velocity.
