I enjoyed seeing our Algebra 2 students at Memorial HS applying math to real life. Using exponential models including simple & Compound interest to explore stock investments by sector. Shoutout to the amazing librarian @jeanachetty for helping bring it to life! @BrookFesco
Walked into a classroom where every student received a personalized note, seen, valued, encouraged by their Math teacher.
Small moments. Big impact.
Relationships matter. Good job Griffin @GriffinMSGators
Stafford MS Saturday Math Camp = learning + fun!
Shoutout to our incredible math staff and admin for making it all happen and creating an awesome experience for students! @StaffordSpartn
Love seeing this in math classrooms at @TrentMSFISD students talking, thinking, and owning the learning . Sentence stems + turn & talk = real math conversations. This is the move! @JeffGuelker
Math 6 & 7 students at MS are bringing probability to life! ๐ฒ
Using manipulatives and playing Blocko, students are exploring chance, making predictions, and seeing math in action. Itโs great to watch them engage, collaborate, and build understanding through hands-on learning.
Great job this morning, everyone! The plan is coming to reality, and our Math Gator Nation is ready for targeted math support (Advisory) for students starting after spring break. Proud of the teamwork. Go Gators! ๐
Stranger Things meets math. Well, not exactly, but 6th Math at Trent are doing a playlist with the theme of "Integer Things". It is self-paced with teacher checkpoints along the way. Lowman and McCarthy know how to meet students where they are. @JeffGuelker@PulisScience
Love seeing our IC over at Stafford MS leading deep-dive sessions with the math team, focusing on lesson facilitation, maximizing every minute of instruction, and ensuring students get the very best learning experience.
๐ Halloween + Data Dive = Student Success at Griffin!
Spent Halloween morning at Griffin Middle School, where the math team, led by the principal and instructional coach, used the What? Gut? So What? Now What? protocol to dig into data and plan next steps for student success.
Stafford Leadership Team meets weekly w/ Serita to engage in meaningful conversations around student success. ๐
Iโm proud of the collective effort to make every shift count! #LeadershipInAction#StudentSuccess#ContinuousImprovement
@danijacksonmath@IC_K8Stafford I really love this approach modeling with students in real time followed by teacher reflection. It makes me wonder how this could be adapted for secondary classrooms.
Thank you, Stafford MS, for the opportunity to present! ๐ We put on the student hat to experience learning, then the teacher hat to reflect on how to create more student-centered classrooms. We all learned together
These Algebra 2 students are taking math to the next level! They turned images into absolute value and quadratic equations โ and canโt wait to build out their masterpieces as they learn new functions. Innovation and creativity are alive on campus
Thereโs real power in students creating their own anchor charts instead of teachers making them. At Stafford, 6th Math students built their own Unit 1 charts through collaboration. A visual they can keep interacting with all year to capture their learning journey from Unit 1.
6th grade math students @TrentMSFISD were having a blast today, working in groups, competing, and putting laptops aside for good old-fashioned whiteboards and markers. Great energy, lots of talking, thinking, and fun. The answer was 6. I wonder if the next one wouldโve been 7 ๐คฃ
A great day of learning with @mzfrizzmath from Region 10 on Building Thinking Classrooms, Toolkit #1! ๐ก Engaging strategies, fresh perspectives, and tools teachers can use right away to get students thinking deeper. #BuildingThinkingClassrooms#R10#fisdlearns
Planning day with Math 7, Math 8, and Algebra 1 at Stafford. Weโre diving into what needs to be taught in upcoming units and shaping learning experiences that set students up for success. Great team! #FISDMath#StudentSuccess
Loved seeing our secondary math teachers come together today for #FISDLearns! The collaboration and sharing will have a big impact in classrooms across Frisco ISD.
FISDLearns was a success! Secondary Math teachers came together to present, share, and learn from one another. Canโt wait to see the impact in classrooms moving forward!
