I like Rupert & Restore, but IMO the real crime is the 300% tax applied to tobacco.

If people want to make bad life choices, that's up to them.

We're all consuming carcinogens daily, anyway, for example with the plastics our food + drink comes in.

I'm pleased to say that we've just had a huge operation across Great Yarmouth cracking down on dodgy vape shops and blatant fronts operating on our high streets.

10,820 illicit cigarettes and 4kg of rolling tobacco were seized yesterday alone, with six separate premises targeted following tip-offs.

All achieved after inspection by officers and trained search dogs - I want to thank the officers, and of course the dogs!

This initiative was delivered through cross-party work between Restore Britain/Great Yarmouth First and Reform UK on Norfolk County Council.

Carried out in partnership with Norfolk Police, Great Yarmouth Borough Council and HMRC.

@UKDecline To expand on this, that's part of why the Gov is flooding the NHS with foreign workers.

The gov doesn't want to pay market rates, and can delay that by importing people from developing countries who will accept lower pay than natives.

However, I assume there's also the issue of the NHS salary tiers, which means the NHS pays, arguably, below market rates.

If someone qualifies as a nurse, they can then work at private hospitals and get paid more. Then, won't show in NHS figures.

@searchofengland @DaxwellsMemon I was looking at this, it's fascinating isn't it. The list of potential skilled jobs = "the skill". The workers aren't required to have more than A level equivalent qualifications and basic (B2?) level English.

So as you say, they don't have to be skilled.

- Use as Medium of Exchange
- Retains any real value at all (dead for practical purposes)

Just curious. One could argue that Bitcoin Cash or ETH Classic did not "last", but... they're still around.

@UKDecline I'm looking at this "register of licensed workers" list - and I think we really need to see the quantity of skilled worker visas these companies have employed.

I know it's not publicly available data, but it could be very illuminating.
