Aside from those earning over £100k, families where both parents work already are entitled to 30 hours free childcare. This is specifically to expand it to those where both parents aren't working. Seems barmy. Expand coverage for working parents instead!

@andrewglynch Should have just given a blanket 20 year council tax holiday to anyone living within 1 mile of HS2 (except those benefitting by living within 5 miles of a station). Then just crack on with normal construction, without appeals etc. £1.6bn total cost [according to AI].

@mccourt_mccourt Numerous studies show that time parents spend with their kids significantly improves their educational outcomes. I think its unfair that the unemployed can give their kids such an advantage, which isn't similarly afforded to hard working parents.
