Now hold on just a minute.

If we are talking in generalities, neither party owns women’s safety.

Democrats still can’t define what a woman is. They bully us for not wanting men in our locker rooms. They call sex work empowerment. They want to rent out our bodies through surrogacy.

Too many Republicans are busy solving the “war on men” by shoving women back to the sidelines, ignoring decades of real oppression, while protecting the predators in their own pulpits, bloviating about repealing the 19th Amendment and killing no-fault divorce, and wringing their hands over making church “less effeminate” while women walk out the door in droves.

One side erases us. The other controls us. Neither protects us.

If anyone eats the meat of a peace offering on the third day, he will not be accepted (Lev 7:18). That is: an offering made two days before is retroactively nullified if the meat is consumed.

Seems a typical piece of ritual casuistry, almost Pharisaical.

There are purity and holiness issues at stake, but it's not just that. The rules of the peace offering are about charity.

Even if you bring the smallest lamb you can find, you can't eat all of it on one day. You might save the leftovers for a week of lunches, but the rules don't permit that.

The rules of the peace offering force worshipers to share their offerings - with family, widows and orphans, strangers and Levites.

A peace offering that's eaten on the third day hasn't been shared. And an uncharitable worshiper will not be accepted.

Weights and measures must be just and "full" (Dt 25:15). The Hebrew for "full" is shalem, related to shalom, and implies balance, fairness.

A society cannot enjoy shalem/shalom without an equitable means of exchange, that is, truthful and just money.

When currency is debased, violence gets embedded in every transaction.

False money, inflationary policies, aren't merely economically destructive. They're a theological problem, an "abomination," because they violate the peace of Yahweh.
