Holly, thank you for your continued support of #PE1979. Your voice and the voice of other survivors really matters to us. Cllr Doggart and Cllr Mowat's motion will be debated in Edinburgh Council tomorrow. You are utterly correct that 2.2 covered the key calls of the petition. As noted, we are disappointed that this was deleted and we hope all other councillors will fully support the motion. Whatever, we will remain focussed on the petition's calls and importantly, independent investigation of the mishandled child abuse concerns and an INWO to best establish the child safeguarding truth and keep children safe. @PhilipDoggart@jomowat
The former leader didn’t know what her husband was up to. The Treasurer of the Party didn’t spot these payments. Frank Ross is a decent man and he resigned from the Audit Committee because he couldn’t see the books.
It is time for a new MSP in Midlothian North.
@MidlothianTory
I’m sure @jomowat would offer a better option than both. Respected across all parties on the council, works hard for the residents and the best advocate for good government you could find. @EdinburghTories@ScotTories
Meanwhile, in Edinburgh... This is yet another in a series of student politic motions from the Green Group they claim is an 'emergency motion' for tomorrow's Full Council meeting.
I sure don't miss this circus. And no, they aren't political prisoners.
🚜@Carbon_Crusher's new Carbon Rover is the future of regenerative roads.
It's an AI-enabled road recycling machine that crushes damaged roads and stabilizes them with biogenic carbon—delivering 4x stronger roads at lower cost with net negative emissions.
One Rover does 8 hours of work in 4, and three Rovers working together can refurbish miles of road in a single night (vs. 4-5 days traditionally).
Validated from Norway's arctic mountains to Arizona's desert, it delivers impact at scale: just six Rovers at 50% utilization could remove 1 megaton of CO₂ in two years, with each unit sequestering 940 tons daily.
As I know to my cost, councillors have to fight to protect those rights. The system is loaded against councillors doing the right thing and needs reform.
Councillors must be free to scrutinise financial decisions on the public’s behalf. Article 10 gives us enhanced freedom of speech rights to do so — protecting that principle is essential to protecting the public. This is far bigger than my own case.

Tonight I am delighted to say that I have been selected as the @ScotTories candidate for Edinburgh South Western in the Holyrood 2026 election.
Thank you to everyone that came along on such a beautiful evening.
Wrote in today's @scotonsunday about the problems facing @reformparty_uk, how they're ill-equipped to deal with them, and why they've peaked too soon in Scotland.

Oops that didn’t go so well. It doesn’t take much to remember the names of your newest councillors. Or maybe it doesn’t take much to be an MP (or MSP) for Reform.
Despite being politically “different”, there are times when Katrina and I see the world in the same way. Being elected has been the biggest privilege of my life, being in leadership would be a bonus but it hasn’t happened. My duty is to serve the city. Public service!
The biggest congratulations should go to @FraserNelson. At a time when print journalism is fighting for its life, Fraser and @afneil have turned The Spectator into a hugely profitable and influential magazine and because of its innovative digital products - it has its biggest ever domestic and global reach. And without compromising its quality. Quite an achievement.
Congratulations to Sir Paul Marshall, new owner of The Spectator. The price, £100m, is a huge vote of confidence in The Spectator, its writers and (most of all) its potential. After a long auction, the next chapter in our 196-year history can finally begin https://t.co/M7xkaEXKoy
In Colinton Fairmilehead by-election it’s a straight choice between @ScotTories@cuthbertneil and Labour - who have no candidate yet
With a the large number of older people, will the removal of their Winter Fuel Payment by Labour influence the result?
