@TRobinsonNewEra "British culture" is a fusion of many cultures and is constantly evolving. It's a great (and very old) example of multiculturalism at work. Even something as English as Morris dancing was introduced from Flanders and may have Middle Eastern origins.
@usa64073028074@CopperCation@Keir_Starmer The First Amendment is pretty similar to parts of the European Convention on Human Rights, so makes perfect sense but leaves room for improvement (it took 14 Amendments to cancel slavery).
The Second is inconsistent, I can buy a semiautomatic rifle but not an LMG or RPG?
@usa64073028074@CopperCation@Keir_Starmer Well the US is not doing well on prevention. Given how many firearm murders you have (way more than anywhere not actually at war) you still have a lot of stabbings.
@usa64073028074@CopperCation@Keir_Starmer I know you're American but do you really need it spelled out?
The Prime Minister of the UK can't comment on an ongoing court case. That would be an abuse of position and potentially prejudice the prosecution. It's the kind of unconstitutional twattery we'd get from your guy.
@brexit_sham This has been framed as demonstrating that the police prioritise minority complaints over white wellbeing, which is ironic given numerous incidences of black people dying in custody or even as a direct result of police action.
@itdavek@Anniehesketh@StopFundingHate@GBNEWS@elonmusk Churchill for all his good qualities was wrong about a good many things. He thought the Imperial powers could survive WW2 (they couldn't). He thought the NHS and Welfare State would replicate the Gestapo habits of Nazism (they didn't). But at least he had a good education!
@martinlselby@CopperCation@Keir_Starmer ๐งต should be investigated and lessons learn, let's not pretend it's evidence of police racism against white people. Put it in the context of other cases. Police make mistakes, and the welfare of suspects (of any race) needs to be prioritised to ensure injuries are spotted. 2/2
@martinlselby@CopperCation@Keir_Starmer Hmm.. have there been any cases where a black victim has been portrayed as the perpetrator and died in police custody?
In many cases it's not simply been failure to recognise an injury - death has directly resulted from police action.
While it's right that this case 1/2 ๐งต
