Flashback 16 years: Activist David Eby at the anti-Olympics rally, mic in hand, solemn face:
"And why is it that we're holding these games on unceded native lands?"
Fast-forward to an hour ago, Premier Eby:
"And we're limited in what we can do about the Cowichan decision until the trial court is done with their determinations on the file."
Classic. Spend years cheerleading "unceded/stolen land" activism, push policies that weaken private property rights and invite these rulings... then shrug and blame the courts when the chaos hits homeowners in Richmond
Create the problem. Blame the courts. Class A blame-shifting narcissist @Dave_Eby

So now Liberals say you can’t afford a home because of the war in Iran.
How much land, lumber, drywall, concrete do we import from Iran? Zero.
But rest assured that all the other Liberal disasters will now be blamed on totally unrelated foreign conflicts.
It’s all an illusion.
When the Islamic regime murdered over 36,000 people over 2 days, it needed to be validated.
But when the same murderous regime with a proven track record of misogyny & disregard for women claims a girls’ school was struck, AP and the Toronto Star uncritically repeat it.
Why?
To my X followers,
I’ve worked with the media for nearly 25 years. For most of that time, the relationship was professional and balanced. But in recent years, something has shifted.
I am increasingly concerned about the state of our democracy — particularly how media, in general, are informing Canadians about food policy, food inflation, and economic policy.
I now find myself learning more about Canada’s economy and policy changes from American outlets than from Canadian ones. Much of our national coverage feels reactive, shallow, or overly fixated on partisan narratives rather than substantive policy analysis.
What troubles me most is the lack of scrutiny applied evenly across governments and institutions.
For example, when the Bank of Canada suggested that Ottawa’s counter-tariffs contributed to food inflation, only one major outlet — Bloomberg — gave it meaningful coverage. The grocery benefit program received very little examination regarding how it would be financed. It took days before anyone pressed for clarity.
During the latest spike in food inflation, several outlets turned to the same small circle of commentators who dismissed any potential role of federal policy — carbon pricing, GST holidays, counter-tariffs — despite mounting evidence that policy decisions can and do affect food prices.
Instead of investigating structural drivers of inflation, much of the coverage focuses on fact-checking opposition rhetoric, even though the opposition has not governed since 2015. Scrutiny should be applied equally — not selectively.
Quebec media, while imperfect, appear to have maintained a broader range of debate. In much of the rest of Canada, I see increasing concentration of voices — often from the same region, Ontario, often reflecting similar policy perspectives — and less diversity of thought grounded in empirical research.
This isn’t about partisan politics. It’s about accountability, transparency, and healthy democratic discourse.
Media are under financial pressure — that’s real. But public trust depends on independence and depth. Subsidy structures, incentives, and newsroom economics all matter.
Canada deserves stronger policy journalism — especially on food affordability, supply chains, and economic resilience.
We need more data-driven analysis, more intellectual diversity, and more courage to ask uncomfortable questions — regardless of which party is in power.
Until that happens, Canadians would be wise to diversify their news sources and think critically about what they’re being told — and what they’re not.
The Canadian mainstream media is giving Carney the biggest open ice EVER in recent political history.
Punishing food inflation? Housing starts falling? Bigger deficits than Trudeau? They don’t care.
They even write articles about Canada being worse off than Alabama but act like it happened all of a sudden - like the weather.
Meanwhile, Carney hasn’t removed a single anti-development law, or approved a single new project out of his Major Projects office.
His response to food inflation is a recycled Trudeau policy that didn’t work back then.
He promised during the election that he would get a deal on US tariffs and so far things have just gotten worse.
Meanwhile, the media gush over trade deals that have already been signed by previous governments, regurgitate Liberal spin as headlines, and spend more time scrutinizing the opposition than the government.
We all know the Liberals subsidize them. But the Parliamentary press gallery could at least pretend to be objective by telling the truth on Carney’s actual results versus his rhetoric.
Liberal MPs were pulled from a delegation to Taiwan ahead of the PM's Beijing trip to "avoid confusion". Now, they're sitting on a Canada-Taiwan trade deal.
Carney spoke of "principled pragmatism" in Davos. It seems the principles are missing. #cdnpoli

@MoonGlo33@grok When food inflation data is released, the media increasingly turns to Liberal-aligned experts to explain why higher food prices are supposedly just in our imagination—and why everything is fine, so long as policy isn’t questioned.
Strong media coverage is important.
Like everyone else, I looked at the shooting of Renee Nicole Good. From several angles. And frame by frame. I watched the reverse lights go out. The weapon leave its holster.
I looked at the before footage. The aftermath. I listened carefully to the audio. I heard the legal scholars commentary. The politicians. Etc.
But most of all, I watched it as a pair of amped up Federal Agents with a car and driver defying my orders in a tense situation. And then I watched it as a freaked out American female in fight-or-flight model with a terrifying man trying to force open my driver side door who may have barely noticed the other man in front of my car about to end my life.
——-
My thoughts.
This was always going to happen. A bunch of political people we don’t know playing out a drama of Sanctuary Cities, voting strategies, refugee designations, border enforcement, immigration scams, etc.
Sooner or later, given enough time, a loving widower and single dad will also pick up a gun and find a 2A solution to his grief over the Surgeon who “transitioned” his only brainwashed child while he was working two jobs in a murder suicide.
Someone wearing a Candace t-shirt calling for America-First will shoot up a Pro-Israel rally in Florida chanting about “Noticing”, Nick Fuentes and wanting their country back. Or a person will spray-paint “Never Again” on a Cybertruck and drive it into a Michigan crowd screaming “From The River To The Sea!”
Etc.
We are being set, like wind up toys, to tear each other apart and ourselves apart. my own head has been filled with so many slogans and so much hate for you by so many different people no matter who you are.
We are all in this low grade revolution.
And it will be reset today by algorithms you didn’t program, filled by speeches you didn’t write, amplified by accounts you don’t know are bot farms, directed by political strategists whose names you do not know, undoing action you would never have taken in ways you would never agree to directed by famous people you don’t know personally.
Now we know why Trump wanted Carney as PM. He knew he’d get everything he wanted!
A trillion-dollar gift of Canadian investment flowing to U.S. mines, factories, sawmills.
Canadians pay, Americans profit, and Carney refuses to even answer for himself.

Last election’s debate, PM Carney said China is Canada’s biggest security threat.
Minister Anand is now talking of a “strategic partnership” with Beijing, including security.
Is this another example of the PM saying one thing in the election & doing another after?

This confirms the RCMP didn’t do its job and gave Trudeau a pass
What’s more scandalous. The fact they didn’t or some media types trying to cast doubt on Poilievre’s assertion?
Either we believe the former Justice Minister @Puglaas or the spin by paid actors to cover it up
Canadians were left shaking their heads in disbelief for 10 years after scandal after scandal rocked the Trudeau govt. and no charges were ever laid. Some of these scandals involved billions of taxpayer dollars being funnelled to Liberal friends and advisors. The RCMP did nothing
