@lanestudios@terryleewhite@Apple Is it just possible that tens of millions of people, rather than being gullible fools, prefer the better product?
I mean is that possible? IS IT?!??!1!o1!
@terryleewhite@jasonmperry@Apple And then what, am I gonna stoop over there and use that screen to check the weather? I have an iPad on the table here or my phone or I can ask Siri or look out of the window.
(Also Lucy just said “is that my house on the internet?”)
@terryleewhite@jasonmperry@Apple Here’s my kitchen. See the HomePod? That’s right, you almost don’t. Imagine it if had a monstrous screen. ☹️
It’s good that there’s competition. Get that thing from Amazon, I’m sure it sounds terrific and is reliable.
Twitter Blue 'limited time' offer of ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY FIVE AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS PER MONTH?
Limited because you know I'm drunk now and when I sober up I'll realise you're out of your goddamned mind?
@elonmusk might wanna sort this out.
@blessanm86@simonswiss Yeah. Though you’re unlucky if you have a family hatch this close to the house.
We have a Huntsman mama guarding her sac out in the veggie patch. I live 300m from the centre of the capital, Canberra.
@apollozac Such a great product. You have to live with one to realise how great they are.
My kitchen has a stereo pair and I’d be lost without them. 98% for playing music, 2.5% for controlling the light, and -0.5% for non-music-Siri requests. Ha ha joke funny get it?
I’ll stop now.
@cal_stoneman @dwoodbridge I’m so happy to see the 2nd gen because I love my stereo pair 1st gen.
It’s the sheer convenience of two devices that only need a power cable. They’re at opposite sides of my kitchen, one on top of a cabinet. And yeah, they sound fantastic.
But Siri, oof, rough.
Me too and me too! Helps that @berkeleygfx has a really sensible pricing and licensing model. Makes it actually realistic for someone like me to buy and use a custom typeface.
It’s coming on the website redesign which I’m getting up at 6am to work on every day! :-)
.@MindNode. Spectacularly good mind mapping software that just keeps getting better. A Mac-assed Mac app. I love it.
I think a subscription is ~$50/year? Worth every cent.
@kevdog@mindnode I feel you.
I like the model where you get upgrades while you pay and then your version is frozen in time if you stop. A nice compromise.
@kevdog@mindnode I used to but I've made my peace with it.
From the developer's point of view I get it. You need to know that you can keep the lights on, especially if you're anything larger than a single person.
Software used to cost $600. Now it costs $60/year. It's the same money. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@berkeleygfx@awesomekling@corecursive I heard this once that if you tell people about your idea, they’re gonna go “cool idea!”, and now it’s like you’ve taken the dopamine hit for doing the thing without actually having to do the thing.
So you’ll never do the thing, because now why bother?
