@paulg@Altimor Are they “anti-tech” or are they anti the business models and behaviours that current tech companies are built on? Are complaints about the practices of predatory healthcare companies “anti-health”? Pathetic straw man you’re using here. Do better.
@paulg@Suhail Succeeding is one thing. Insisting that one’s success qualifies one to define, loudly and with privileged access to power, how society should be arranged in order to sustain that very narrow *political* definition of success is not morally neutral. Grow up.
@LiveSimulator@Suhail You shared that ill-informed opinion using the World Wide Web. You probably typed it, in all its stupidity, on a touch screen.
Beautifully ironic that both the innovations that allowed to so publicly display your ignorance came out of CERN - *entirely* funded by governments.
@skjultster@FromKulak What an astounding observation. After 20 years of life you observed that those with 20 years’ less life seemed “less intelligent”.
Truly you are possessed of a rare and precious intellect.
@benedictevans@damnyeah In Spain I pay 45 euros/month for unlimited phone and 1gb fibre to the door (Some people pay just 35).
Coverage is waaay better too - video calls at 4G with full signal in the middle of the mountains.
And full roaming across all Europe so the “bigger area” point is invalid.
@play_ht Impressive tech on "ultra-realistic voices" but product & business model NOT ready for prime time. Good when it works but laborious and unpredictable. And if you cancel your sub they'll nuke ALL your past work. U think I'll come back after u treat me like that? Uncool.
@miniver BBC did a truly excellent series of podcasts on this, exploring all the details of just what was going on in those minutes. Very much worth a listen https://t.co/ZDDph1oapL
@Blessed_Madonna I feel you! I went to my first rave in the UK in 1989 and I was really annoyed because I’d missed the “Second Summer of Love” in ‘88 🙂
@jboogie It’s sad to think that this is probably true not only in France but in most countries. Having meaningful work is a privilege rather than the norm for the vast majority of the world’s workers.
@anildash Enclosures. It’s what happened when the private landlords seized the common land and kicked off the ancient inhabitants, so they alone could profit. This theft has precedent.
