My mother Kate Korman owed $500 to Arizona Public Service, so shortly before her 82nd birthday they cut off her electricity. Temperatures were in the 90s and climbing.
Without air conditioning, the heat killed her within a few days.

Having rolled with people who are serious social justice advocates for a long time, I have a developed a distinctive way of articulating some key things which some people find useful

❝
It is suspected that in many vehicle shooting cases, the subject driver was attempting to flee [Customs & Border] agents who intentionally put themselves into the exit path of the vehicle [⋯ as] justification for the use of deadly force.

@zx7miller I am morally and politically opposed to this assumption that citizens should be deferential to the potential for agents of the state to irrationally panic
@zx7miller And Renée Good did not attempt to kill him, as demonstrated by the fact that she could have squashed him flat when he was directly in front of her car had she wanted to.
@lilchiva@zx7miller I presume that the grainy vid you reference is the one included in the NYT analysis here, so I take it as verified. Their video synchronizes it with the closer, better-quality video from which I screencapped the image at the top of my thread.
@zx7miller@2021Freedom1776 To believe that she was trying to hit him, we have to accept that she waited while he walked across the front of the car, then hit the accelerator when she could only achieve a glancing blow. That makes no sense at all.
@zx7miller@2021Freedom1776 And yes, again, the wheels do momentarily spin while pointed straight head … then they •immediately• turn all the way to the right as the car begins to move forward. Which is because she had cranked the steering wheel all of the way to the right before she stepped on the gas.
@zx7miller@2021Freedom1776 Yes, there is a brief moment when the wheels spin in place as they shift to the right. That is consistent with her driving on snow-slick road and turning the wheel all the way from left to right before proceeding forward.
@zx7miller And you are grasping at rationalizations.
Maybe she would have reversed and tried to hit more agents? Maybe she would have run over a child later? Maybe she was going to kick a dog later too?
None of those possibilities are an immanent threat which justifies lethal force.

@zx7miller I cannot find any documentation of “multiple vehicle attacks” other than from DHS … whom I cannot trust since they made the false claimed that Good struck multiple agents with her car.
