A heartbreaking moment that was saved by an SS photographer at Auschwitz II-Birkenau during the deportations of Hungarian Jews.
It was taken 81 years ago, most likely in late May 1944. A little child finds a dandelion in the grass and is handing it or showing it to an older boy.
All the people in this picture had already gone through the arrival selection and were awaiting to be murdered in a gas chamber. They were killed shortly after.

My piece in The Guardian this morning:
EU race to rearm is pointless if hostile foreign powers can still use online algorithms to boost authoritarians to power across Europe.
Europe’s new “Democracy Shield” should immediately shut them down.

Paras 54-56 show that Google CEO Sundar Pichai rejected or failed to act upon internal calls (example) to reform the Google's dangerous RTB system in 2021. Instead, Google plans to start releasing even more data, next month.
From our new complaint v Google under new U.S. national security law. Para 50 has a table of sample Google segment IDs available for purchase: health, sexuality, finances, active military status, etc.

Today’s complaint targets a major part of Google’s business: much of Google’s $237.9 billion advertising revenue is RTB. Google RTB dominates online advertising and operates on 33.7 million websites and a huge number of apps.
Just now we & EPIC filed a complaint to US FTC against Google under new national security data law PADFAA
