Yes, we need people in law enforcement to start speaking up, leading by example, and calling out their peers that reinforce oppression.
@cking7777 @psyc220 #cd7 very good point, luckily in personal experience I have not had to deal with this, but I imagine there are quite a few therapists that do reinforce the medical model of disability.

as by acting as if they have a sense of entitlement due to their money. It is important to have open and truthful conversations with children about their privilege and how they can not reinforce systems of oppression.

One of my big goals in life is to eventually be a father. I believe they can reinforce systems of oppression against marginalized groups, such as through classism. On an intrapersonal level, parents can reinforce ideas to their children through their actions. Such
@Shannon03262326 @psych220 @psyc220 It really is an act of bravery for members of marginalized groups to try and cross borders, even when it may be dangerous to them, in an attempt to live a better life.
@frankmrdukes @psyc220 @psyc220 Anti-Semitism is not talked about enough at all in today's society. There are acts of anti-semitism all around us, in large scales, or even on individual levels.

One area of oppression that has not been discussed in class is spirituality/religion. Many marginalized religious groups are comprised of followers who belong to other marginalized groups. This may make it even more difficult for them to practice their beliefs.
@frankmrdukes @psyc220 I believe that feminists and the feminist movement is a good standard and model for other marginalized groups advocating for themselves, which I feel like your post hits on this point. @psyc220 #CD4
@pagdag220 @psyc220 I agree with the first statement that the feminism movement sets up a solid foundation for others. However, in an attempt to end oppression for all, it is also important for feminists to stand with and directly advocate about other oppressed groups @psyc220 #CD4
together, a strong message is portrayed. When marginalized and oppressed groups share a common goal of ending this oppression and having their voices heard, others will start to listen, and change for all will slowly be made. #CD4 @psyc220

Feminism is about trying to advocate for equality and the end of gendered oppression. Feminists should stand in solidarity with other oppressed groups. If groups who are oppressed due to their gender, sexual orientation, etc. stand and advocate for each other
Additionally, values of the "middle-upper" class and certain morals of Christianity, are also seen as "typical American values." Essentially, I believe these three identities I hold, have intertwining values/sub-identities.

I took the United States Identity Scale, and scored a 62/68, which is rather high, and would indicate that I identify pretty strongly with being American. I believe that a lot of the other identities that I hold, contribute to the fact that
I strongly identify with being American. For example, Christianity would be my religious identity, and middle-upper class would be my socio-economic identity. These are two privileged groups in society, they have it easier in American society.

jobs are often incredibly low and inhumane. While there may be a โcritical consciousnessโ developing in regards to this situation, not much action has been taken to create change.

One of the โfaces of oppression,โ which is glaringly obvious in the United States, would be exploitation. One example would be the fact that migrants looking for jobs in the United States can find a variety of harvesting/farming jobs; however, the wages for these

This message suggests that cultural/racial/ethnic, etc. differences should be recognized, and celebrated, rather than ignored. It would most likely fall into the โleft essentialist difference,โ as it appears to โfocus on difference as an essential piece of
