The minimum corporate tax rate should be 50%, the prevailing rate prior to the imposition of neoliberalism. There is no valid reason that capitalists should take more than half of the surplus we collectively produce, with our labour and our planet’s shared resources.
Of course, once one accepts this argument, it begs the question: why should capital control *any* of our surplus? Surplus retained by firms can and should be managed and invested democratically by workers and community stakeholders toward socially and ecologically beneficial objectives.
