On the third day of the CORPS AFRICA ALL COUNTRY CONFERENCE, the National Youth Council actively participated as Cabinet Secretaries @Waziri_Mvurya EGH (@moyasa_ke ) and Hon. @gk_ruku (Public Service), alongside PS @fikirini_jacobs (@SDY_Ke), officially launched the event at the @KSGKenya. The conference, themed 'Leading with Ubuntu: African Youth Transforming the Continent,' championed the vital role of African youth in driving community development and innovation through the philosophy of Ubuntu. Hon. Mvurya highlighted existing ministry initiatives for youth benefit, urging them to embrace technology, creativity, and resilience. PS Fikirini, in turn, challenged youth to seize government opportunities, shaping not just their own destinies but also the future of their communities, Kenya, and the entire African continent.

We hosted a delegation from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (@KaiptcGh) at the National Youth Council (NYC) offices.

The meeting, led by our Ag. CEO Ms. @GloriaWawia, focused on final preparations for the upcoming Youth in Leadership and Peacebuilding Course happening later this month in Nairobi.

Together, we reaffirmed our shared commitment to empowering young people as key agents in peacebuilding and regional cohesion.

NYC and KAIPTC Launch Youth Peacebuilding Training.

Today, the National Youth Council of Kenya, in collaboration with the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (@KaiptcGh) and Women, Youth, Peace and Security Institute (@wpsi_kaiptc), officially launched the Youth in Leadership and Peacebuilding Course at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Westlands.

The event brought together 35 youth from Kenya and Uganda and featured opening remarks by key dignitaries including Ms. @GloriaWawia, Ag. CEO of NYC; Mr. Ebenezer Anum Tetteh of KAIPTC; representatives from the UN, State Department for Internal Security, Dr. Francis K. Nderitu (CEO, ICGLR), and Mrs. Sylvia Horname Noagbesenu (Ag. Director, WYPSI).

The course was officially launched by Ms. Emily Maina, Director of Youth Social Development from @SDY_Ke who represented Mr. @fikirini_jacobs, Principal Secretary for State Department of Youth Affairs & Creative Economy, emphasized the government’s commitment to youth inclusion in peacebuilding, in line with UNSCR 2250. Running from 23rd to 27th June 2025, the training aims to strengthen youth leadership, regional networks, and civic engagement in peace and governance across Africa.

At the 8th Annual KIPPRA Regional Conference 2025 at the @KSGKenya, the National Youth Council took part in a parallel session on “Enhancing Workforce Health, Well-being, and Inclusivity” The session focused on strategies to build a healthier, more inclusive, and resilient workforce.

Key participants included @KIPPRAKENYA Acting Executive Director Dr. Eldah Onsomu, NYC Head of Registration and Coordination Mr. @ridha, independent researchers, youth representatives, and other stakeholders who shared valuable insights and recommendations.

Yesterday, the National Youth Council, led by Ag. CEO @GloriaWawia welcomed a delegation from the Tony Elumelu Foundation, headed by Director of Operations Dr. Hakeem Onosanya. The discussions centred on areas of collaboration between the two institutions.
The foundation's has been committed to empowering African young entrepreneurs since 2015 and currently they are supporting young entrepreneurs in businesses and in green economy in Kenya offering training, mentorship, and seed capital for upcoming youth entrepreneurs. Together, we explored opportunities for collaboration to enhance policy solutions, improve access to grants, mentorship, and foster strategic partnerships that bolster entrepreneurial support.
