@marcminter As a Boomer pastor, in my experience (PhD/SWBTS), Dispensationalism was promoted primarily by Calvary Chapels and DTS grads. It filtered into SBC churches through radio preachers and parachurch orgs. Even in the 80s, Dispensationalism was viewed skeptically in SBC seminaries.
