It’s been a crazy few weeks for soccer in the United States.
• Lionel Messi’s sold-out MLS debut
• Record viewership for USWNT
• 50,000 in NC for Wrexham vs. Chelsea
• 65,000 in PA for Chelsea vs. Brighton
• 67,000 in TX for Real Madrid vs. Man U
• 70,000 in LA for Madrid vs. Milan
• 82,000 in NJ for Man U vs. Arsenal
• 82,000 in LA for LAFC vs. LA Galaxy
• 82,000 in TX for Barca vs. Real Madrid
And with the 2026 World Cup coming to North America, things are only going to get bigger 📈
LINDA CAICEDO APPRECIATION TWEET 🇨🇴 Turned pro at 14, beat ovarian cancer at 15, and today the 18yo Real Madrid prodigy scored a goal that sparked a SEISMIC upset over powerhouse Germany. One of game's brightest young stars, lifting her team & delivering joy to an entire nation.
I’ve shared this on Instagram so wanted to bring it to all my 300 followers on Twitter lol
Anyways, for awhile I’ve been educating myself on the effects of the menstrual cycle on the female athlete. I understand my level of training differs to that of an athlete, but this (cont)
applies to all females. There is continued research that shows the proper modifications/additions during the luteal & follicular phase are effective. We also see a majority of injuries to the female population happen during week 1 of follicular phase (menstruation) so why not
2. Helps to progressively overload
weight, volume, ROM etc namely in the follicular phase
3. Using my @WHOOP I also saw recovery trends & spent more time in a restorative state than constantly overtrained
figure out how my programming strategies can help prevent that
A few take-aways from the past few months:
1. Training based on the menstrual cycle allows for a natural de-load by reducing volume &/or adding in extra regen days during late luteal phase
Thank you @THSCAcoaches for a great event allowing us to connect with new coaches & reunite with old friends!⚡️🤝
