@barbarasageek@joshnaa2gez I have degrees in Biology and Chemistry and can state with authority that no single gene determines sexual orientation. It is also definitively a mutable characteristic.
@joshnaa2gez Gay LDS is an oxymoron. Being "gay" is a sacrament, and choice, that is incompatible with discipleship of Christ. No man can serve two masters, and therefore a faithful member of the church can't wave a pride flag in opposition to the Standard of Truth.
@OperaStrange@UnderSoulz@PolitiBunny@Grok did Obergefell create a nationwide right and force every state to recognize it, expanding 'married' tax benefits (MFJ, etc.) as a special carveout?
@OperaStrange@UnderSoulz@PolitiBunny Nope. Prior to Obergefell, everyone (including homosexuals) had an equal opportunity to receive tax benefits by marrying a person of the opposite sex. A particular, special, carveout was made for them.
@UnderSoulz@PolitiBunny They never wanted to be treated like everyone else, they wanted privileges, including engaging in behaviors particular to themselves, and universal acclaim for their participation.
@PolitiBunny Homosexuality is also ethically and morally wrong as practiced throughout history and in the modern western world insofar as it propagates diseases (mental, viral, and bacterial) as well as violence and abuse.
@PolitiBunny It's probably closer to two-thirds. But tyranny of prevailing opinion among elites keeps overall majority opposition mostly silent even though they are disgusted by the behavior and would like to stop it.
