It's #ElectionDay! Polls are open.
In Michigan and across the U.S., voters will head to the polls to weigh in on key races for governor, Congress and control of state Legislatures.

306 bills have been introduced or passed in state legislatures across the country that make voting harder. Our work to protect fair and free elections in this country does not start and stop every four years.
It is encouraging to see that so many young people have already voted. However, a @splcenter report found that 18-29 year olds make up only 7% of mail ballots and 7.8% of early in-person votes. https://t.co/ruYY6MRhv3
EARLY VOTE UPDATE: More than 3 million young people have already voted in the #2020Election, including over 2 million in some of the states where we have identified the youth vote could shape results this November. https://t.co/sHCuyil6Xm
If you have sent it in, follow up with your clerk to make sure your ballot was received. If you plan to vote in person, do it early if possible or be super safe in the coming days so you don't end up quarantined on Election Day.

Dear Michigan: Voting by absentee for #Election2020?
DON'T 👏 MAIL 👏 YOUR 👏 BALLOT. It's probably too late to mail your ballot. Make sure your vote counts by dropping it off in person. https://t.co/5ZbUre0usd
Happy Birthday Mary Ann Shadd, born on this day in 1823.
An abolitionist, activist and teacher, she founded 'The Provincial Freeman' in 1853. It would make her the first Black woman in North America to publish a newspaper and one of the first female journalists in Canada.
Sr. Ardeth Platte passed away last week. I was fortunate enough to get to speak with her earlier this year, in 2 long conversations that I’ll cherish forever. She is the kind of human we should all strive to be and our world was better off with her in it. https://t.co/mb14jGUg5B
I have spent (more or less) the last year researching and writing this story. I’m very proud of it and happy to share it with you all! https://t.co/XIL5Xr3U0p
