@dasscherick How (or was) the sanctuary cleansed in the OT? With all that sprinkling, I imagine the veil was full of dry blood. I don’t remember reading anywhere that God set forth any detailed instructions on how to remove the blood from Gold or the Veil. Did God do it himself on Yom Kippur?

OBEDIENCE VS LEGALISM

Within the biblical narrative, obedience to God is a positive thing, a beautiful thing, a delightful thing, a wise and transformative thing to do (Psalm 40:8; 119:33-36; 2 Corinthians 10:5; 1 Peter 1:22). True obedience is an act of faith, from the heart, born of love (Hebrews 11:8; Romans 6:17; 1 John 5:3).

Obedience is not legalism, nor is legalism obedience.

Legalism is articulated in Scripture with various terms, such as, “the works of the law” and “righteousness through the law,” but never with the word “obedience” (Romans 9:32; Galatians 2:16, 21; 3:10).

With ingenious irony, Ellen White throws us this curveball:

“The man who attempts to keep the commandments of God from a sense of obligation merely—because he is required to do so—will never enter into the joy of obedience. He does not obey.”

She is suggesting that there is an appearance of obedience to God that is, in fact, disobedience. Legalism is “a method of forgetting God which shall pass for remembering Him,” to employ additional language from Ellen White. In fact, legalism is rebellion disguised as obedience. It is a way of being religious while retaining self as the center, outwardly complying in exchange for something from God or to get things from people by putting on a religious show.

Obedience, by infinite contrast, is never transactional, never rendered to God in exchange for His favor, salvation, or blessings, and never to impress others. It is always the outward expression of an inward love for God in the light of His love.

When tellin my story the fact I had PTSD would excuse me being a wreckless addict. It gave me a certain power. Thk God I’m free today. Its emotional blackmail/manipulation

@dasscherick This is soo on-time! I’ve literally been arguing about the truth of the Bible, existence of God, the resurrection for the past 3 hours with my brother. In the end I quoted DA “There are things we know to be true, that we cannot prove”. Some people are just willfully ignorant…

@100trillionUSD @Annalve_ I got in last year at basically all time highs (50s and 60s). I didn’t know enough about BTC to understand that it goes way up and back down. If I’d waited I could literally have 3-5 times more coin than I do. I’m playing the long game, so not a huge deal, but it does bother me..

@FOX8NOLA I used to live in there..I was homeless, addicted, and in need of shelter and a quick way to get cash. There are miles of copper and aluminum in there, not to mention other valuable things that abandone military installations have left behind. That was 4 years ago. Today im sober

@FOX8NOLA I had an amazing support system and I still had to battle to make it out of that lifestyle. But it is absolutely possible for every one of the 100 to live the best life they could ever imagine, if they choose to do the work, and have some help along the way from their neighbors..

@FOX8NOLA I also pray that our city/state recognizes the need, and makes available the resources needed to help those who want help…even if they don’t immediately seem like they do. 100% of the people I met on the street was addicted and it’s challenging overcoming years of harmful habits
