I woke up this morning thinking last night’s tornado was a nightmare, and while it still was, it was also real and impacted many families around Plevna, KS. I haven’t heard anyone that’s been seriously hurt, so that’s good. My heart and prayers go out to anyone who’s been affected by this.
Even though I’ve only been chasing for the last 3 years and still have so much to see and learn, I’ve never seen anything so large and menacing in my entire life. And my dumbass was still driving straight towards it. #kswx #wxtwitter #wxx
WE GOT DATA!
Check out this first-ever 3-D data set of wind and thermodynamics from the ground up from inside a #tornado!
With a peak wind of 131 mph measured above ground, and greater than 115 mph at ground level outside of suction vortices, it appears this tornado was at least an EF2.
This data set sheds light on the 3-D structure of the dynamic pipe from ground through the vent, showing a high swirl ratio tornado here. The vent is the powerful updraft at the upper reaches of the dynamic pipe, the strength of which is proportional to the ceiling of the tornado cyclone below.
We also computed a pressure perturbation with height, with two maximum deficits happening at launch and farther above ground in the dynamic pipe.
Notice the little loop the parachute probe made at the backside of the #tornado at the same time as an RH decrease. We do not believe this is a subvortex here so far above ground.
What do you notice with this data?

@cardfan_502@steelerman03@polloandwaffles@ChasingWConnor To each their own, but for someone who’s going to school in hopes to research tornadoes, storm chasing helps getting to see all of what is learned in the classroom, in person
@steelerman03@polloandwaffles@ChasingWConnor Because this is a naturally occurring phenomenon that can have precautionary measures taken- while war is a man made conflict created by one or more opposing sides, and because us as humans are too prideful to accept when we’re wrong. Does that answer your question?
@polloandwaffles@ChasingWConnor I think it should be common knowledge for when a storm chaser says a storm is lame or it’s a bust, it’s not because it didn’t absolutely obliterate your town. We geek out about weather, but never hope for it hurt anyone nor damage property
1/ While I've seen too many posts involving deterministic model runs attempting to diagnose severe weather potential for the upcoming sequence. To provide perspective, here's the Sunday/Monday 12z GEFS 500mb flow for each member. Even close to the event, there's a large spread.
@Simon_Hypixel Would there be at point where we could get a map to see where we’ve explored? Because I have a server with my friends that was created before the Dinosaurs were added, and it’s hard to tell what’re old chunks and what’re new chucks where the dinosaurs would be
Is there any way I can get help with this issue? Tried running launcher as administrator, but it goes through the entire download process and at the end we get this image. We also tried reinstalling 3 times. No other “Hytale Processes” are occurring. The “game” file also doesn’t have anything in it (of course cause it’s not finalizing the download)
Here are some nitpicks I’ve gotten playing for like 8 hours yesterday:
1.) rain only starts in specific biomes and the moment you step out of it, it stops. I feel like it should be area specific regardless of biome
2.) I feel too low to the ground
3.) the tanning rack takes a longggg time
