Michael was also a musical savant as Prince was, only Michael did not play any particular instrument, opting instead for the freedom granted by not putting fingers to keys or frets, no pen to score-paper, only his mind connected to other's fingers and pens.

This allowed him to imagine beyond the confines of the instruments and the prejudices of musician-ego.

Yes, he already was wise to the problem of the "great musician" muscling their way onto his record with boring solos or bad, but showy lines.

Those who make great records have a saying when a musician is failing a session due to ego:
"Oh shit, he's going for the cover!" (of Guitar Player Magazine)

Great musicians were at Michael's call, but only the ones who transcended their instruments in service to what Michael had in his head.

The others only saw the back of his head as he went out the door.

with no apparent specialty, like Michael Jackson

Being kind, generous, wise, and shy

while not being beholden to any gang, club, or corporation.

Weird dancing. So weird it is Best-in-world.

Being showman, performer, creator of experiences
while understanding you can't look and act like Joe-neighbor down the street and be committed enough.
While understanding the theater of your role.

All while staying with 1 basic transaction: to continually improve the experience for your fans, and only your fans.
To do all that alone at the top of where the buck stops

That's weird. Unprecedented. Unique.
Humans with that kind of blessedness just don't come along.
But when they do, it's weird.

Because they ARE "weird".
