I look at what Alonso is doing after inheriting a team full of superstars and being allowed some great signings. I look at what Slot did with record-breaking summer signings. I look at Arteta, spending hundreds of millions every year and still not delivering.

Then I look at my Flick. With an injury-prone Olmo and a Rashford on loan as his only significant signing, he won us a domestic treble in his first season and is now leading La Liga by 4 points, running the second-best attack in Europe after Bayern.

And yet, I still see some fans complaining. You won’t know the value of what you have until the horrible day comes when he finally leaves us.
