Congrats to @TheCliburn gold medalist Yunchan Lim and the rest of the finalists!!! I get so invested but I’m so glad that my favorite won. Excellent competition - hope to join in person for the next competition!! #cliburn2022
@februarygal The whole piece sounded heavy and slow, like it wasn’t flowing with ease. He sounds underpracticed to me. Heroic work though, such a hard piece.
One of the problems with knowing these concertos so well is knowing the placement of every single note. Ilya Shmukler is missing a lot of them. Wonder what I would see in his performance if I didn’t know the notes. #Cliburn2022
Incredible balance and musicality in the opening of Yunchan Lim’s second movt for Beethoven piano concerto #3. Orchestra responding to him. Incredible artistry #cliburn2022
I’ve watched enough cliburn competition to know that the finals can go in any direction! It’s such a matter of personal taste. Congrats to all the competitors and for all of your hard work.
@TheCliburn Ukraine’s Dmytro Choni showing us he’s more comfortable in the romantic era than with Mozart. His Brahms was marvelous, moving, and layered. #cliburn2022
@TheCliburn Shmukler playing like he wants to this to be over. Uncharacteristic - he seems nervous and not quite as prepared as in previous rounds. Mozart is so so hard!!!! #cliburn2022
@OnePiano@jenchang1 I’ve learned not to predict the judges!! Still can’t helping holding into my favorites. I hope they don’t downgrade anyone based on age! Hopefully it’ll all be about the music.
catching up @thecliburn . Watching Yunchan Lim throw everything he's got out on a ledge with Liszt's Transcendental Etudes - full of risk, daring, and heart. I can't look away - he's a superstar. #cliburn2022
@TheCliburn Yunchan Lim blends in seamlessly with the orchestral phrasing. His versatility is spectacular. His playing makes my “heart shake”! ❤️ #cliburn2022
