I used to live in a townhouse. We had a community clubhouse with a garbage can outside. I was outside with my dog and I threw the poop in the garbage can. One of the neighbors threw a hissy fit about this and I was told I wasnt allowed to do that and to throw the poop in my own garbage can. Another time, it was garbage day and I threw a newspaper (no poop, just the paper) into the neighbors garbage can. She saw me do this and got really angry. People are very testy when it comes to their garbage cans.

We’ve talked about this before. It can be done differently but if’s a decision a couple has to make together. I went to Tallahassee with Mike and the dogs. We did it together. We also didn’t do this until the oldest kid was going to college. All of these things make a difference. The way we did it was unusual. Before people got used to the idea that I was a permanent fixture, everyone was like, what are you doing here? I was like, we’re married. Married people live together. To me, this was the way things should be done and it was completely normal. Then, I kept hearing, you’re here. Smart. That’s when I started realizing that people were saying to me because many go to Tallahassee and end up blowing up lives. They don’t even realize that their new life isn’t their real life. They do the wrong things. They change. They think their something their not. They make friends who aren’t their real friends. (FYI, we made friends we still have. That can happen. You just have to find the people who live in the same reality that you do and who are genuine.) let’s talk about this more. But just know you did great things when you were in office. You’ve helped many people. That’s not time wasted. There was a reason for the season. Now you and Sophie can move on to the next thing and maybe bring another dog into your lives! Maybe instead of Gracie, this one can be Tracy! 😊 ❤️
