I am horrified that a car has been deliberately set alight outside the home of the family of Salma Yaqoob, a wonderful prominent anti-racist and peace campaigner in Birmingham.
I hope the police take this shocking incident seriously. Sending my solidarity to Salma & her family.
Time to reflect: I’ve lost friends and family and the version of life I once knew. But not myself. Cancer holds up a brutal mirror to relationships as not everyone can cope with watching someone fight for their life every day or even comprehend it. Some people become anchors and others become absences. Thank you to everyone who supports me, it is hugely appreciated 🙂
I hope John Mann will be asked his definition of a "political" symbol or badge. Many #NHS staff have rainbow lanyard ribbons. Some on the right wrongly consider the rainbow a political symbol when it is actually a non-political symbol of diversity and inclusivity. #r4today
Not doggy related, even though John does have a dog.
There are only three people in my life I can truly, and honestly say, I look up to.
Mrs H, my wife.

Please, if you don’t already, give John a follow, a more compassionate, inspirational human being, you would be hard pressed to come by. 💜
Let's hear it for @John_Dabell! Life gave him lemons, but he not only makes lemonade, he distributes it to all of us. Well done, John. You show us how to live. Keep going!
@bennishkeit@Theuniondivvie@simon_schama I'm generally against the mass killing of civilians. The fact that it's Jews doing the killing doesn't complicate it for me. Put it this way, I have no reason to come up with reasons to justify it, ignore, it, cover it up, or explain it away.
So much fun campaigning in Makerfield yesterday. The more time I spend with Sarah the more I know she will make such a fantastic MP, someone who cares deeply for people.
It's time to heal our society and not use working class people as a stepping stone.
Vote Green 18th June!
We don’t know where the landmines are buried, but we can’t stay at home 24/7 waiting for the world to become safe. Living with cancer means stepping out into uncertainty every day, planning where we can, adapting when we must, and hoping the ground holds.
Jeremy Hunt who is putting the boot into Nicola Sturgeon once forgot that he owned seven luxury flats. He also once claimed 27p in expenses for a half mile car journey. #bbclaurak
The British public deserves to know the full scale of its government’s complicity in genocide. That’s why I will continue to push for an independent, public inquiry.
We will not give up until there is justice for the people of Palestine.

What do you do when you are thirsty? You have a drink, unless you are nil by mouth. Today is the hottest May day on record in the UK, but when you cannot swallow, hydration becomes a logistical exercise instead of a basic human reflex. I cannot just grab a bottle of water or sit in a café and cool down. Every drop of fluid has to be syringed directly into my stomach through a tube and believe me, that is not easy when you are out and about. You need clean hands, clean equipment, time and privacy - somewhere dignified to stop and hydrate without feeling like a medical procedure has hijacked your day in public...and to avoid people staring! People see the sunshine. They do not see the calculations behind survival.
Hot weather for most people means inconvenience but for us nil by mouthers, it can become dangerous very quickly. The reality of head and neck cancer is that even something as basic as quenching thirst is no longer simple.
Tony Blair: 'My Government reduced pensioner poverty'......also: 'we need to get rid of the pension triple lock'.
And: 'We ended the war in Gaza'.......also: 'there's still fighting going on'.
Then we get an approving summing-up of this drivel from Nick Robinson. #r4today
#BBCNews reports Carol Vorderman wanting an apology from Reform's Makerfield candidate Robert Kenyon for endorsing disgusting comments about her but adds that she's a Burnham supporter. In this case I don't think that's relevant and unfairly implies an ulterior motive. #r4today
@BriefcaseMike Just thinking about this Never happens for me on public transport if I have to travel at busy times Is there going to be an age hierarchical amongst elderly folk?
Ordinary life requires extraordinary effort when living with head and neck cancer. I'm not feeling great and today's hike has been hard work but the effort always pays off.
It’s as simple as this. If the Greens can’t stand up to the attacks from the usual bad faith actors they aren’t going to be able to stand up for us. The Establishment narratives need defeating not surrendered to.
