@Sixersszn2026 I’m no Pohlad defender but comparing attendance at a playoff game to a Monday night April game when the wind chill is 20 degrees is… maybe not apples to apples
@TrentPaasch@NYCSportsAddict@fuzzyfromyt I don’t care where the dynasties occur. As long as it’s not completely predetermined by market size… in the NFL any market has a chance. In MLB… only 4 or 5
@CoachBGonzo This will never be effective in actually impacting ownership level decisions or in strong arming them into selling the team. If you enjoy going to the ballpark and being a fan… don’t deprive yourself
Fans, players and owners are all angry at the current situation. If that’s the case maybe we can grow up, put away the swords and work toward a compromise that works for everyone instead of each group needing to “get theirs” at all costs.
Fans are angry. At growing payroll disparity. At a Dodgers team that cracked the system. At others unwilling to do the same. And particularly at the threat of no baseball in 2027. Free at ESPN: Where the game stands -- and how there's still time to fix it. https://t.co/uZrXarDx7C
@tipping_pitches And I’m not defending the Pohlads. They’ve been bad owners, they have made bad business decisions. But there’s nothing they can do to operate at even 1/3 the financial power the dodgers to. That’s the reality of market size and baseball economics
@tipping_pitches Twins ownership, who just had to have multiple minority investors come in to save them from $500 million in debt accrued to the franchise are definitely taking it in hand over fist and are just being cheap. Very healthy pocket books.
@tipping_pitches Wishing for the is like me wishing for a billion dollars to hit my checking account tomorrow. Now that we’ve exited fantasy land can we discuss real ways to improve the sport before 2/3 of the fanbases stop caring?
@tipping_pitches And I don’t want to hear “every owner can do what the dodgers owners have done if they’d just open their pocket books” that’s just flat out false. The dodgers have geographic and market advantages other teams can’t make up for with business practices
@tipping_pitches Because like it or not the top five revenue earning teams don’t exist in a vacuum. They need teams to play against and the economics for the smaller markets aren’t working anymore.
