:A Grecian Odyssey, Seen from 250 Miles Above From the serene vantage point of orbit, the cradle of Western civilization unfolds like a living myth carved into the Earth itself.Below lies the rugged Greek mainland, stretching southward into the sun-drenched Peloponnese, where ancient heroes once walked. Further still, the legendary island of Crete anchors the scene, birthplace of gods and kings. The Aegean Sea glimmers with countless islands scattered like jewels across sapphire waters — a labyrinth of myth and memory. The coastlines are impossibly intricate, fringed and lacy, as if the gods themselves traced delicate fingers along the shore. From 250 miles up, the geography that shaped democracy, philosophy, and epic poetry reveals its breathtaking secrets in a single glance. These are the same waters that carried Odysseus home, that whispered secrets to Socrates, and that still call to sailors and dreamers across the ages.Simply breathtaking. Timeless.
US oil heads to Greece for first time in four years as refiners look for alternatives to Middle East crude https://t.co/qRdKPN0g1m https://t.co/qRdKPN0g1m
Today, America and our Greek partners celebrated a landmark agreement in Athens that restores offshore gas drilling in the Ionian Sea and advances Europe’s energy security. 🇺🇸🇬🇷
“OXI” wasn’t just a word — it was a choice.
A choice to stand up to tyranny, a choice for freedom over fear, principle over power.
85 years later can we live up to the example of those who stood up against greater odds?#OXIDay 🇬🇷
While #Turkey blatantly disregards international law in the Aegean, we've seen powers like #China work from the same playbook. The South China Sea is a perfect example.
Giving Ankara a free pass in the Aegean sends a clear message to malign actors in Beijing, Moscow & elsewhere.
Turkey continues to cozy up to Hamas and Putin while threatening many of our allies, including Israel, Greece, & Cyprus.
Allowing Turkey to rejoin the F-35 program would put our allies at further risk.
We cannot give America’s most advanced fighter jets to those who undermine our security.
From #Chevron’s bid to explore in Greek waters to @SecretaryBurgum's recent visit to #Greece, energy - and Greece's role in this story - is taking center stage.
I dug into what all this means for #Greece w/ @confilis on the @GreekCurrent. Tune in here: https://t.co/UxoVRVlX5J
The east med has been emerging as an important energy hub for Europe with Greece at its heart. Great to see the admin is taking note. @lenaargiri with the scoop
🧵
Must read interview with @SecretaryBurgum - especially in light of his leadership of the Trump Administration’s Energy Dominance Council.
Note the nod to the “3+1” 🇺🇸 🇬🇷 🇨🇾 🇮🇱:
“…strengthening regional stability alongside allies like Israel and Cyprus.”
As @EcuPatriarch told President Trump yesterday, Christians in #Turkey are now "a drop in the ocean," and the Christian population of the #MiddleEast - once the cradle of Christianity - "is dwindling."
@POTUS, now is the time to act before it's too late. https://t.co/os5KIxFsgy
Turkey illegally invaded Cyprus 51 years ago. Turkey continues to illegally occupy a third of the island, and as Co-Chair of the Congressional Hellenic Israel Alliance Caucus, I remain committed to supporting Cyprus’s reunification and sovereignty. That’s why I introduced the Turkey Diplomatic Realignment Act and Eastern Mediterranean Gateway Act. These bipartisan bills push back on Turkey’s destabilizing activities in the Eastern Mediterranean and strengthen our partnerships with key regional allies.

Turkey’s continued occupation of Cyprus is a clear and present danger to Western security interests and to the safety of the citizens of Europe, the US and Israel (and probably quite a few more countries). 🇹🇷 enables 🇮🇷, it is the #WorstAllyEver
Bravo Joe Mansueto & @ChicagoFire! This investment in Chicago represents exactly the type of business and civic leadership that will revive our city. A world class stadium anchoring Chicago’s 78th community - just awesome. 🔥 ⚽️ 🔥
ACTION ALERT: In 2019 the US imposed CAATSA sanctions on Turkey & kicked it out of the F-35 program for purchasing Russian S-400 missiles. Despite the fact that it still has these missiles in its arsenal, Ankara is now pressing the White House to lift sanctions & sell it F-35s.
Some “ally” - Turkey has made it a habit to attack US soldiers, US civilians, and the US’s Kurdish partners in the war against ISIS. Enough!
Worst. Ally. Ever.
