Legal migrants bleed cash on visa fees, taxes, NHS surcharge & sky-high school costs—yet this sham “earned settlement” shoves ILR even further away!😱
Experts shred the bogus Skilled Workers ALREADY earn it. 10-year routes? Talent exodus incoming. #UKImmigrationScam#FixThisNow
We are legal immigrants — not illegal.
Your announcement has triggered severe stress and uncertainty for nearly two million legal migrants.
This instability is damaging the mental health of thousands of families.
We demand only fairness for the rules under which we entered.
Thank you to @unisontheunion and Christina McAnea for supporting migrant workers.
Judging worth by payslips devalues those running UK public services; forcing them to wait more years for security betrays promises, while existing visa rules already trap them.

You bring people in when you need them, promise 5 years, then turn it into 10. When they’ve served your purpose, you discard them. The devil is always in the detail — if this is how the government keeps its word, who would still trust it enough to invest or do business here?
People have contributed in the UK, yet now they are penalized for trusting the system. Delaying Indefinite Leave to Remain does not strengthen immigration; it fuels uncertainty and discourages commitment. Do not apply changes retrospectively to anyone lawfully in the UK!
The Home Office chose to frame the question this way – how is this not a classic double negative pushing people to oppose protections for migrants already on the settlement route, just as the government moves to lengthen qualifying periods and tighten ILR?😤😤
They said, where there’s a will, there’s a way…
But what if the WILL became WILL-NOT in the middle of the way, would there be any WAY for us then?
Say NO to the RETROSPECTIVE RULE, say YES to the FAIRNESS!
Fair rules, fair future!

For as long as we’ve known, the 5-year route to ILR has been one of the clearest and most stable parts of the UK immigration system. It wasn’t hidden in the fine print — it was written out plainly, understood by everyone, and treated as a promise we could rely on.
Because of that clarity, many of us built our lives around it. We followed every rule. We came here legally. We worked hard, set up our homes, started families, and made major financial and life decisions based on the pathway the government itself laid out.
Some of us have just finished our first year.
Some are halfway there.
Some are only months away from reaching 5 years — finally close to the stability we’ve worked so hard for.
And yet, overnight, the government is trying to tear all of this down. Years of planning, sacrifice, and trust — dismissed in a single announcement.
We are angry. But more than that, we’re disappointed. A government that should value fairness and stability is now willing to break its own commitments just to score political points. This isn’t about improving life in the UK. It’s about competition and short-term headlines.
We — the skilled worker community — won’t quietly accept this.
We’re here.
We followed the rules.
And we will stand together to defend the rights and the future we were promised.
