@matthewcobb I was privileged to chat to the brilliant Graeme Mitchison once and it's clear he was beloved at the LMB. Unfortunately the paper he is talking about had a major mathematical flaw and did not as he thought explain Fibonacci numbers in plants...it took another 20 years.

@JamesBSumner @matthewcobb To get the Sara T book to Kenner I'd speculate literary modernism: Lyn Irvine, who wrote the literarily competent, rather good, bits in it-EM Forster-Guy Davenport with an added dose of King's homosocial memory. Irvine disliked Forster and was very marginalised though.
