My company's app, Tango Tango, provides mission critical communication to 600+ public safety agencies and was suddenly pulled off the Google Play Store yesterday due to a trademark claim by TangoMe (an adult-oriented video streaming service). We strongly disagree with this claim but Google's process has been "guilty until proven innocent".

We appealed to Google which was denied overnight. Our counsel has attempted outreach to TangoMe's lawyers and I've attempted to contact their CEO directly. Those attempts have met no response. We've had no outreach from TangoMe, before or after, besides this Play Store complaint to Google.

We have operated under the Tango Tango name for 9 years. We have public safety agencies tell us every week how our app helped lead to better outcomes and saved lives. In 2022, our app was used in helping to stop a school shooting in Texas before the first shot was fired. One of our customers is Los Angeles Fire who is currently fighting a wildfire. There is a holiday weekend and Presidential Inauguration upcoming.

How can this suddenly be an emergency to pull down a first responder app *right now* that is used in life safety matters everyday?

We are reasonable people and happy to have a conversation but this is not the right way to do that. Our app should remain available on the Play Store and we are happy to have whatever conversations there are to be had with TangoMe in an orderly fashion.

Ok ok hear me out. A pixel 6 but no camera bump. The camera is still there - just the whole phone is that thick. Fill all that space with batteries.

I'd buy a thick boy phone like that in a heartbeat if a decent and well supported one was on the market.

.@LinusTech just mentioned Cowboy Maloney's as a place to buy a TV and I'm rolling. That's the store I grew up with but I've never heard anyone outside of Jackson or Hattiesburg MS reference it. Honestly surprised they are still in business after Best Buy rolled into town.

I miss strong, static, compile time typing. Something with power like you'd find in Haskell or Scala.

Type checkers in dynamic languages are just never going to be as good as something fundamental to the language. It's like wanting a fillet and being given a hamburger steak.
