Tango Tango is back in the Google Play Store. Huge, huge thank you to State Representative @RexReynolds01 and US Representative @RepDaleStrong for their swift and decisive action today in making immediate outreach to Google on our behalf.

If you know Rex or Dale, you know they are passionate about public safety and both showed it today. If you care about this issue, maybe shoot them a thank you note and remember them in the next election.

My company's app, Tango Tango, provides mission critical communication to 600+ public safety agencies and was suddenly pulled off the Google Play Store yesterday due to a trademark claim by TangoMe (an adult-oriented video streaming service). We strongly disagree with this claim but Google's process has been "guilty until proven innocent".

We appealed to Google which was denied overnight. Our counsel has attempted outreach to TangoMe's lawyers and I've attempted to contact their CEO directly. Those attempts have met no response. We've had no outreach from TangoMe, before or after, besides this Play Store complaint to Google.

We have operated under the Tango Tango name for 9 years. We have public safety agencies tell us every week how our app helped lead to better outcomes and saved lives. In 2022, our app was used in helping to stop a school shooting in Texas before the first shot was fired. One of our customers is Los Angeles Fire who is currently fighting a wildfire. There is a holiday weekend and Presidential Inauguration upcoming.

How can this suddenly be an emergency to pull down a first responder app *right now* that is used in life safety matters everyday?

We are reasonable people and happy to have a conversation but this is not the right way to do that. Our app should remain available on the Play Store and we are happy to have whatever conversations there are to be had with TangoMe in an orderly fashion.

@Austen We had this problem when we setup a new domain for email. Don’t have any good solutions other than it mostly self-resolved after 90-180 days. Definitely setup SPF and DKIM and all that if you haven’t already.

@buccocapital Had this same issue. If you go to Settings - Communication - Push Notifications, you can turn off all the marketing pushes.

@jasonlk Auth0 was easily the worst when we tried to actually engage with them in 2023. Got back to self serve and would never deal with their Enterprise team again. They were horrific. Will absolutely replace them one day.

2. Find customer segment that is not their core.

@TJPublicSafety Completely agree. I tell people all the time that it’s absolute madness that my kids use much more advanced (and free!) tech to share cat videos than our first responders have to save lives in time-critical scenarios.
