@Brew_man84@DimitriFed@MikeWingerii You realize that Hebrew is further removed from Today’s Hebrew than our English is from Old English, right? Do you understand how languages work?
@Brew_man84@DimitriFed@MikeWingerii This is goofy. What about people who don’t speak English? Ancient manuscripts written in multiple different languages, translated into other languages BEFORE English, and translated into English before the KJV, suddenly became THE book when it hit KJV on the timeline?
@Brew_man84@DimitriFed@MikeWingerii Ecclesiastes - written in an ancient Hebrew that is now a dead language - says nothing about modern English (or modern Spanish or Korean or Swahili). In fact it says nothing about linguistics at all.
@JeremyWingert79@JuneElls66@WWUTTcom Point being, that IF God has put parameters around human sexuality, IF he’s decreed that some sexual behavior is good and other sexual behavior is unacceptable, then personal desires are not an excuse to engage in behavior He’s forbidden (hetero or homo).
@JeremyWingert79@JuneElls66@WWUTTcom Me too. But I’d argue that “being gay” isn’t one side of a binary straight-or-gay coin, as if there are 2 types of people. There’s no biological, fundamental difference between gay and straight people; being gay is simply about behavior one chooses to engage in.
@Protestia Seems like all those times they put up Asherah poles in the OT was… *checks notes* … a BAD thing, because Yahweh was pretty angry with them for it.
