@JoshuaBarzon It’s hard for me to believe Europeans are that unfamiliar with America, but then again we are 2 or 3 generations removed from the last time we hosted the World Cup…maybe we should bring the world here more often…

@JoshuaBarzon Not very far for me or for my wife. Great grandparents is pretty much where it stops. Maybe pushing back to 4 generations with a great great grand…but the trail goes cold around the late 1880’s, early 1900’s….

Hot take- I don't think Moses was that good of a leader. 1) When God calls him, Moses makes tons of excuses, so much so that God becomes angry with him Exo. 4:13-14. 2) All the amazing things that did happen, didn't happen because of Moses, but because God was at work Exo. 3:20.
2/2 When I think about church history and look at those moments when the church got along well with those in power, things didn’t turn out so well.
When I look at American Christianity today and how well we're getting along with those in political power, it makes me wonder...
1/2 In the gospel of Mark, I notice how those groups who held political power in Jesus' day (priests, scribes, elders, Pharisees, herodians, and sadducees) did not get along with him. they were all looking for ways to trap him, imprison him, silence him, and kill him.
