Bessent was hired to strengthen the dollar by doing the opposite of all the warning signs he saw in the British Pound.

Inflated housing markets, treasury yields, etc. all pointed to the big short that the Soros fund pulled off.

Bessent's obsession with the prices of homes and the interest rates on treasury bonds isn't just rank populism.

He's looking to strengthen the leading indicators of a currency.

This is what I mean by "white hat hacking" the dollar.

Mapping out its vulnerabilities to protect it against future exploitation.

One of the most glaring vulnerabilities was a heavily overinflated trading market. Wall Street was on a sugar high.

Hedge funds were leveraged to the gills, and if that bubble popped, it would have created an 08 style financial crisis.

The tariff roll out... volatility and all... was a way of creating controlled detonation.

Wall Street FREAKED OUT and deleveraged themselves.

Now, there won't be any banks or hedge funds who can't afford to pay off their loans because they overlevered.

The extreme tariffs are also coming at a time when Bessent sees a recession or depression happening in China. He emphasized this several times with Tucker.

By boxing in China and shutting down their exports, he's creating the same conditions that led to the big short of the British Pound.

If the Chinese Yuan collapses, then it'll cause a global flight into US Treasury bonds.

Driving down interest rates even further for when they go to refinance the $9T of expiring debt.

I’m not usually a signs and miracles kind of guy, but sometimes they are impossible to ignore.

My daughter was born at exactly 8 PM last night during the brightest supermoon of the year. She got to take her first helicopter ride on her birthday!

I knew that there was some risk of a tough birth because my wife is 42 and our son made things challenging, but everything was progressing perfectly with smooth health checks and I was optimistic that we would deliver normally.

My wife scheduled a routine appointment for last Tuesday, and all of the scans, blood work, and vitals looked perfect.

However, the obstetrician wanted to see her, and as she was about to be consulted an emergency pulled the doctor away at the last minute and the appointment had to be rescheduled.

Mildly annoyed, my wife left and prepared to reschedule for Thursday. That mild annoyance would save her, and my daughter’s, life.

Yesterday morning, my wife showed up for her routine appointment feeling fine. Her blood pressure, which had been normal throughout the pregnancy, had suddenly spiked to 190/100: severe preeclampsia.

Many doctors would not have scheduled an ultrasound at that point, but out of an abundance of caution a scan was ordered that showed a small abruption: a life-threatening pooling of blood.

My wife still felt fine, and her next appointment was weeks away, so had this appointment not been inconveniently rescheduled, it’s likely things would have gone very poorly.

After the scan, my wife was rushed to the operating room and our daughter was born.

Our nurse was a wonderful grandmother named Joanne. That is my grandmother’s name. Joanne looks and talks exactly like my grandmother did. It was eerie, strange, and really special.

My daughter is 8 weeks premature, so she will need to stay in the NICU at a different hospital than where she was born.

We got to meet an amazing team of flight nurses whose only job is to keep babies safe and fly them in helicopters.

They promised that they are fierce protectors and hugged me as they flew our daughter to the NICU- we briefly signed custody of her over, so technically they were her mom during that flight.

These incredible women have been moms to thousands of beautiful babies during their careers. Thanks, ladies.

My wife had to stay at the hospital where our daughter was born, so she hasn’t met our daughter yet, but hopefully that will happen tomorrow.

I visited my daughter this morning, and her neonatologist trained at the same hospital where I work.

After about 20 minutes alerts came overhead that a new baby was coming: 30 weeks gestation, very premature.

As I sat with my daughter, I saw the new baby come in and his dad, a 25 year old man having his first baby, was shaking and trying to keep it together.

Watching a medical team swarm around your brand new baby and fight to keep him alive tests even the strongest dad.

After the doctors finished talking to him, I walked over and shook his hand. “Congratulations, Dad.” I said. “I have a little one too. You’re not alone.”

I realized that it’s not about me. These experiences have taught me that I have a special place to help other men and I intend to do everything I can to be an asset to dads, especially during the most trying times.
