@40wheels@BluebirdsPast It was so old fashioned it was used in the film "The Damned United" to depict Derby Countys then ground as it looked in the 1960/1970s...film was made in 2009! Pretty sure Saltergate was the oldest ground still in use in the English Football League just before it shut & we moved
@40wheels@BluebirdsPast Throw in winter games where the rain froze on the walkway and it was great fun! Main Stand was the only seating for a long time and barely changed after it was built in 1936. For most of its life the other 3 sides had no seats & 6ft drop from pitch level to bottom row!
@40wheels@BluebirdsPast Saltergate toilets took a brave person...trough, you didnt want to be down the bottom end of the slope and the lack of roof was useful as the only way they flushed was if it rained!
@cufcmike Had a boss once who complained about a few of us spending 20mins going to the work canteen for breakfast in a morningβ¦.until someone mentioned her numerous 10 min fag breaks and everything was forgotten.
@jamiefellows17@Eyeswideopen69 Definitelyβ¦.that started a long while ago when clubs started paying folk who shouldnβt have been so other players felt they deserved it.
@Eyeswideopen69 The issue they seem to have is kids moving through to senior cricket and then staying on during late teens etc. Lots seem to not want to spend all day into the evening playing instead of going out/socialising etc.
@Eyeswideopen69 Flip side is as a smallish village side my old club has 3 Saturday sides, Sunday side plus Sunday development side, ladies side, numerous junior sides and has upwards of 150 kids on a Friday night for kwik and all stars.
@SabreWuff Same with monitors, all came with power and cables we didnt need that are boxed up just in case. Also the packaging we have to get rid of is well over the top. Half understand general public buying 1 but businesses buying in bulk should have no cables needed\less packaging option
@SabreWuff Same issue at our uk college, upgraded a load of PCs that were fine but cant do Win 11. Every new PC came with a power cable we didnt need as the ones in place were fine. Our stock room has boxes full of power cables. The old PCs were perfectly fine as well but scrapped.
The England and Wales Cricket Board is considering breaking up the BBCβs monopoly on the radio scene by inviting the likes of Talksport to broadcast alongside it

@CfcCrookes@craighopkins3 Done well at Stockport but with a bigger bankrolling than Cook has ever had at town since the multi millionaire fan became owner back in the non league days. He's hardly done it all on a shoestring.
