Comparing the humanistic anxieties of the 19th century with the rhetoric of Palantir’s Alex Karp or Anthropic’s Dario Amodeireveals a stark disparity. Their speeches often lean toward a revisionist and authoritarian vision of the future—one that sounds less like a collaborative social project for all humanity and more like a blueprint for digital feudalism.
While thinkers in the 1800s questioned how technology could serve humanity, today's dominant voices—such as Palantir’s surveillance-heavy values—seem to suggest that humans must be redesigned to fit the requirements of algorithms. This shift toward an AI architecture pursuing “single nation’s prosperity at the cost of everyone else’s global desolation" is a tragic departure from the diverse intellectual reflections of the past. We have devolved from discussing "how to make human life more dignified and valuable" into a monologue on "how to rule humanity."

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today.

I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.
