@newscot33 @paullewismoney This is the issue isnt it. Work hard all your life, see your kids struggle with the cost of housing, education, then a foreign hedge fund swoops in and takes all the savings right at the end leaving your kids with nothing. Why would anyone be ok with that?

@paullewismoney @Frances_Coppola It costs around 5 to 6 grand a month for a care home where the staff are probably on minimum wage. Id imagine most of that money is going into the pockets of investors who are already very rich. Are we really expected to be ok with this? And having nothing left for our own kids?

@audrawrongspeak Im not sure there has ever been a time when all my kids were well and cold free at the same time, for more than a day or 2. If you kept them home every time they'd never be at nursery and you'd quickly lose your job.

Take high speed rail, here in the UK it is costing £100 billion to build a short stretch because of rampant corruption and profiteering, privatisation has gutted our critical infrastructure, we pay full price for awful outcomes. @triXcellence @MikeJohnso9080 @pati_marins64 Yeah I know it is not straight forward to produce these missiles, I'm just somewhat surprised at how unprepared the US has turned out to be for the wars they themselves have started, especially considering they spend more than everyone else combined on defence.

@AaronBastani Yes, I only work 3 miles from my home (Sheffield) but there isn't a direct bus route so if you want to use public transport it's two buses which would cost you £5.80 (2 singles at £2.90 each). This should obviously be considered one journey, but it isn't, so I don't use the bus.
