@jnvcia@wookash_podcast Sure, but this is supposed to be teaching people the right thing to do. And we see way too much teaching content referring to the code that we hate working with as some kind of mark of excellence.
@prantare Any time I’ve gotten to a state where we have all glorious systems we’re happy with, it’s been because the other parts of the game weren’t going great. 👀
Not saying bad code = good game either, but the balance is somewhere in the middle :D
@rfleury Looking forward to it! Love the great work so far, if my future of debugging xbox / ps / switch crashdumps is in here instead of VS I’m a happy camper too.
@evankinney Guess we consistently solve one of the hardest problems to solve of all time consistently aww yiss go us 🥳
Like.. as long as you have a good grasp on your full world state on the server it ain’t that bad.
@RekklesLoL Man like… y’all made watching esports fun again.
In my opinion this run is on par with like the double win OG run in TI.
You guys had fun and it was beautiful to see. I wish it went better and both me and the wife are sad.
But the journey was amazing. Tack ❤️
@MonteCristo Rather sacrifice the entire system then!
I was cheering for fnatic back when they had people I was cheering for and played excitingly.
But like, LR is the epitome of likeable characters and exciting play. Most teams have neither now, why would I want to watch at all.
@PatrinMaddison@MonsieurYordle Just considering the algorithm has a clear exit case, ”max losses” or something we’d be able to cut a decent chunk of the branches at least.
Feels like this kind of algorithm should’ve been done for playoffs sports at some point.
@PatrinMaddison@MonsieurYordle 2^24 looks to be 16.777.216, I mean unreal shits out more verts for rendering if you breathe at it these days lol but fair enough, it’s all just for optimisation. To me it feels like there is some binary chop opt for this but I’m no algorithm hero.
@PatrinMaddison@MonsieurYordle But the point of a monte carlo is to approximate an exact algorithm with randomness, and the more iterations you have the closer you get to the result. If your win chances are 50/50 it’s just 50/50 with some small randomness bias based on iteration count.
@SebAaltonen Agreed! I do like the effective promise that ’This version at least compiles with this SDL version’, but it does feel like there’s better ways to do that which doesn’t carry a ton of bloat not used by the average implementer.
Congratulations on the announcements of Steam Controller, Steam Machine, and Steam Frame, @Steam! It is an honor to be featured as part of your campaign with TMNT: Splintered Fate.
