Unlike other cancers, survival rates for adults with #braincancer have improved little in 40+ years & still reduce life expectancy by an avg of 20 years, the highest of any cancer. @CDMLDN is proud to support @BrainTumourOrg. Read more here https://t.co/AfSLSNmdiU #lifechanging
@GraemeAThomson @guardianculture@guardianmusic With WP he was free to explore and indulge us with his range of musical capabilities and passions. A constant, musical presence across four decades of my life, you’ve captured his essence, for me, wonderfully @GraemeAThomson
A fine tribute. Thank you world, thank you Karl.

@GraemeAThomson @guardianculture@guardianmusic I’m still shocked and hugely saddened at Karl’s death. I saw him several times with my beloved early Waterboys and World Party. With the former his immense contribution slipped under the radar, perhaps only after he left was it fully recognised.

@chrisseventeen Yes indeed, the supplement all present and correct! and everything is in A1 condition - so good to see the cover staring back at me this morning!
@Uni_of_Essex@UniEssexLibrary What a brilliant picture. My Dad, Tony Linscott, was Estates & Planning Officer and part of the original team that opened the University back in those days. Here he is on site pointing at something obviously very important!
@Drumslinger Agreed and what I love most is how this record, for me at least, is the culmination of the rich vein of music that can be traced back to the best of APF, Funhouse and TR&TB.
Thanks Mr Slinger, it’s now playing away as I write…
@GraemeAThomson One thing I’d completely overlooked in the review was the review of the T&C gig. Del Amitri supported that night, Sinead O’Connor made her London debut and I was in the front row. It was a terrific gig!
@Drumslinger @GraemeAThomson I can still listen, wide-eyed, to those three albums, the APF Peel session, Brittania Row et al and be utterly blown away.
@Drumslinger @GraemeAThomson I obsessed over every Mike Scott output from the early steps, thru DNV, Red & The Black, to APF & Funhouse. The first 3 WB records were divine: a writer at the height of his powers. I tried to love FB but the shift in style was too great for me.
