@gsoccertalk@matt_utv@ElliotSpencer_X@mattyreeve5 And it's not as controversial because of the intent or feel of the law, not because it's suddenly obvious what's offside or not. There will still be close calls that you don't like - which has always existed with offside.
@matt_utv@gsoccertalk@ElliotSpencer_X@mattyreeve5 TBF the tech is using dedicated high speed cameras measuring player positions so not relying on broadcast cameras ... but your point stands, the line is drawn somewhere regardless.
@gsoccertalk@matt_utv@ElliotSpencer_X@mattyreeve5 So there is a line drawn in the the Wenger rule? So you could be found to be a few mm offside? Sounds a lot like what happens now. As I said, you may feel better about the decisions made (and I can get on board with that) but there will still be controversy.
@gsoccertalk@matt_utv@ElliotSpencer_X@mattyreeve5 So you would prefer blurry, non parallel camera angles over actual human measurement technology to make those calls? The line has to be drawn somewhere, moving it doesn't really help. Changing the rule might feel better but it's not going to remove the controversy.
