Improving mobile phone networks across Godalming and Ash
I know how frustrating it is for residents, businesses and visitors across Cranleigh, Godalming, Bramley and other areas of the constituency who struggle with their phone signal.
One of my election pledges was to do what I could to improve connectivity across Godalming and Ash. Over the past few days, I have been meeting with representatives of the mobile phone providers; I met with @BT (who cover EE), @VodafoneUK and @ThreeUK , and will shortly be meeting with @virginmedia and @O2 . I talked about the areas where we have gaps and discussed whether they have any specific plans to upgrade their services. Some do and some don't - and some potential investment depends on approval being given to the Vodafone/Three merger which will be decided in December.
The next step is for me to give them detailed information about where the gaps are provider by provider. So I will shortly be launching a survey to ask where the problems are for different providers. Watch out for it coming soon on Facebook and in my weekly newsletter - and please fill it in. The more comprehensive the responses the more likely I am to be able to get the issues solved!
How connected are we? What are the public's attitudes to and perceptions of mobile connectivity and its infrastructure? Are they changing? Find out with our latest industry report ‘How Connected Are You?’.
