@Mailfence - hi got a strange problem: can't load the mailfence website on my laptop or my son's laptop (4 days now) or my son's phone (app also won't connect) but can load mailfence website on my phone browser... (continues)
@Mailfence Hi, my yesterday my son forwarded me a number of emails from his mailfence account regarding an upcoming university open day. His account was then suspended (1/2)
We'd be most grateful if you could rectify this as he has a lot of information in his emails relating to university applications and school work. Thanks! (2)
@peteredeemer Maybe Christians could be distinctive in being willing to take a real loss and an objectively bad outcome because we were unwilling to pursue an effective means that Jesus has ruled out pf bounds? (1/2)
@peteredeemer It feels like one of the biggest ethical blindspots of our time, inside and outside the church. The result we desire is so sacred it justifies any lever I deem necessary to pull (1/2)
@edstetzer@graceinfo Thanks for joining us Ed, I know many were encouraged by your message and your visit! I trust the rest of your time in the UK will be fruitful, and maybe we'll see you back here at some point in the future too ;-)
@garethtrussell feels like these things could potentially be generated via/within the FIEC? Given how much burden these issues place on local churches/pastors, some shared resourcing cld go a long way... I know for eg one of the things Ray often talks abt when he visits churches would be welcome
So thankful to so many @graceinfo this weekend for planning, cooking, setting up, setting down, welcoming, marshalling, playing. Beyond thankful to God for 50 years sustaining grace & fruitfulness for the church family
@DrDanStrange@SEBTS maybe some work by Xns and non-Xs alike evaluating/ analysing recent abuse scandals as in some cases within the church/some churches instead of bringing God's word to an alien culture, the alien culture has taken up residence within our own worldview, ethics & praxis
@DrDanStrange@SEBTS I was thinking of some of Haidt's work or even some of the secular analysis of the transgender movement as in some ways it typifies and exemplifies some of our cultural trends at their most extreme (e.g. Paglia)...
@sgingerthoughts @_david_shaw I'd also agree with this - the deer park in Magdalen is a nice stroll and I think Addison's walk there was one of CS Lewis and Tolkien's oft-trod paths along with the walks around Christ Church meadow
@danhames@_david_shaw I'd second that. There are plenty of sandwich/salad places in the covered market along with good coffee at Columbia Coffee Roasters as well as Missing Bean (Turl Street). Ice cream at G&D's opposite Christ Church or on Little Clarenden Street...
