“Britain was built on the hard graft of people who go the extra mile”
Nigel Farage has missed 137 out of 206 parliamentary votes, which amounts to an absence rate of approximately 66.5%
As a tax lawyer, let me tell you that this is a mad policy. Deeply unfair between taxpayers with no common sense basis. Pure bribery. Why should you pay less tax than your neighbour who's hours are contracted but you do regular 'overtime' ? Ridiculous.
France already tried “tax-free overtime” back in 2007. By 2012 they’d binned it no extra hours worked, just high earners relabelling their normal pay as “overtime” to dodge tax, while the taxpayer picked up the tab.
So spare us the “reward hard work” speech. The only truly tax-free reward going was Nigel’s £5m from a crypto geezer. How much overtime did he clock for that one? 🇬🇧
Dan is a really good guy who loves the club and is getting called all sorts of names just because he has a different opinion.
Insulting other fans achieves nothing but division.
It’s absolutely ridiculous and pathetic behaviour.
I thought we were better than that as a club.
So not only would we be fronted by the unlikable JT, the money is apparently coming from Saudi? Looks like #ColU are trying to play bad guy bingo. Just waiting for the Donald Trump endorsement next.
Probably the worst England squad selection I’ve seen with the players we have available.
Normally one or two controversial calls but this squad is littered with them.
Players going who are barely playing ahead of players in form and/or with experience of big tournaments.
🤯
Affiliated random Labour members do not get invited to private Councillor inductions.
This man is a habitual liar and belongs nowhere near a leadership role.
Still no retraction or apology.
Hi Russell, considering I am the only Labour Councillor on the authority and I was not at the induction (as I have been here 9 years), this is a complete lie and a breach of standards @reformexposed
Ownership change - NEEDED✅
Changing managers - NOT NEEDED❌
DC & NC have united this club.
Removing them, not only divides the club again but has the fans doubting the new ownership
Would be the worst start possible. A disaster.
Common sense please Terry & Co🙏🏼 #colu
@mattyhudson@MartynBell10@dancowley1 It’s very encouraging but it feels like we could go even further.
It’s a shame some of that extra revenue hasn’t been reinvested as previously promised, even with the club up for sale.
The difference in feeling in attending matches with those attendances is chalk and cheese.
“With major wars underway in both Europe and the Middle East, we asked a hundred people what was currently worrying them the most. You said:beavers on fivers.”
Before I was an MP, I worked on the current series of polymer banknotes at the Bank of England.
So I know how decisions about our currency are made, and why they matter.
Nigel Farage clearly doesn’t.
What he conveniently ignores is that central banks regularly issue new banknote series. It’s how they stay ahead of counterfeiters and keep our currency secure.
It’s technical. It’s essential. And it’s completely routine.
So why is he manufacturing outrage?
Because Farage and Reform UK have spent months attacking the Bank of England itself.
They’ve demanded the Bank halt quantitative tightening. 💷
They’ve pushed to stop interest being paid on central bank reserves, which would completely destroy monetary policy transmission. ⚠️
And Farage has even suggested replacing the Governor with someone aligned to his agenda.
Let’s be clear:
Politicians leaning on central banks is how you spook markets and undermine confidence in the economy.
Bank of England independence, brought in by the last Labour government, exists for a reason.
To keep markets and household finances stable.
I back the Bank to keep our currency secure, not to be dragged into political point-scoring.
So if Farage spent half as much time understanding how the Bank works as he does attacking it, we’d hear a lot less of this nonsense. ❌
@colufangeorge Injury prone players getting injured is the exact opposite of that!!!
Every single injury prone player we’ve signed has spent significant time out whilst they’ve been with us.
Good player or not.
For a club with limited funds this season there should be questions asked as to why Akande, Baldwin, and Gape were signed.
Absolute waste of time and money.
One player who was likely to play would’ve been a better investment.
#ColU
@EagleEyedColU@Jamie_Hudson_ The season is a minimum of 51 matches.
Baldwin wasn’t fit when he joined us and Gape hasn’t played 30+ league matches since 2019/20.
Everyone we sign must offer value for money especially in a tight budget.
Is it worth it? If you’re constantly being undermined by injuries…
@Jamie_Hudson_@EagleEyedColU Pretty fair summary!
All those players are also younger and/or proven.
I would’ve signed KVY subject to pre-season which is what we did.
It’s not really comparing like for like.
