Rudakabana has been moved to Broadmoor, not Bristol Royal Infirmary.

Was Peter Sutcliffe a patient or a prisoner? Or, as is actually the truth — both.

I knew people who worked in the maximum security areas of Broadmoor — it is NOT a standard hospital as Reform would have you believe.

It is a severe and punishing prison that offers psychiatric treatment to the very worst of our criminals.

If he is ever released from this extreme facility, it will be back to Belmarsh — there is very little difference.

The Southport killer was moved to Broadmoor because clinical assessment concluded he cannot be safely managed in a normal prison. That means prison officers and other inmates were at unacceptable risk.

You know, the people who actually have to unlock the doors, restrain the violent, and clean up the blood when it goes wrong.

You have zero lived understanding of what those officers deal with daily in an estate already running at 97%+ capacity: constant assaults, self-harm, psychosis, and overcrowding that turns every landing into a pressure cooker.

Moving one extremely high-risk, unmanageable prisoner to a high-security psychiatric hospital is not soft justice. It is basic operational reality so the staff who keep the rest contained don’t get stabbed or killed doing their jobs!!!

Meanwhile, Reform’s actual policy on the real crisis, prisons at breaking point remains a collection of slogans like build more, deport foreign criminals, rent cells in El Salvador. Fine. Now answer the adult questions:

How many new Category A places, fully staffed, and on what realistic timeline?

Exact capital and running costs?

Where does the money come from once you’ve already pledged tax cuts, welfare reform, and everything else?

What happens to the thousands of British born, high-risk, mentally disordered prisoners who cannot simply be deported or shipped abroad?

Until you can produce a costed, deliverable plan instead of rage-bait videos about one transfer that protects frontline staff, this is just emotional theatre for the timeline.

The officers who have to live with the consequences every single day don’t get to play that game.

Broadmoor is not just any hospital. It is a high-security hospital for dangerous mentally ill prisoners. Famous inmates include Ian Brady (Moors murderer), Peter Sutcliffe (Yorkshire Ripper), Ronnie Kray (Kray brothers) and Charles Bronson.

So the Southport killer is not being transferred "out of prison". He is being transferred to a hospital that, famously, is a high-security prison.
