Here’s a fun fact for you about horns, salvation, and the divinity of Jesus.

Twice in the Greek Old Testament, in parallel passages, the Lord is called “the horn of salvation” [keras sōtērias]. Those verses are 2 Samuel 22:3 and Psalm 18:2.

In 2 Samuel 22:3, David says, “My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation [keras sōtērias], my stronghold and my refuge, my savior; you save me from violence.”

And in Psalm 18:2, the psalmist declares, “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation [keras sōtērias], my stronghold.”

Then, centuries later, we find that same phrase again in Luke 1:68–69, where Zechariah sings, “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed his people and has raised up a horn of salvation [keras sōtērias] for us in the house of his servant David.”

Who is this "horn of salvation...in the house of...David? Jesus.

So, in the Old Testament, God himself is called the horn of salvation. In the New Testament, Jesus is called the horn of salvation.

The connection is clear. The strength, deliverance, and saving power that belong to God alone are now revealed in Jesus Christ. He is the Lord incarnate, God in the flesh, the true horn of our salvation.

While I'm firmly Trinitarian in preaching & practice, the key issue for me is deity of Christ. If you say Jesus is Lord, that shows me the Holy Spirit at work, even if other errors exist 😉

@masontdoyle @redeemed_zoomer @davidkbernard @mydocjackson Sure, I think it's worth knowing that there are Jesus-Only Unitarian Pentecostals, and a fair few of them. They're just not the vast majority, with total global Pentecostal/Charismatics reckoned at almost 100 times the size of UPCI.

Oneness Pentecostalism is unique compared to other groups in that it denies the Trinity. AoG and Elim are theologically orthodox and represent the vast majority of Pentecostals.
